2010 Asia Formula Renault Championship Schedule Announced

Shanghai International F1 Circuit, Shanghai China – January 11, 2010:

FRD Motorsports today announced the 2010 Asia Formula Renault Championship series schedule, a 6
weekend/12 race championship that begins April 25th and features three of six weekends at Formula One
(F1) Circuits, as well as a street circuit race weekend. The championship features seven different teams and
an international field of drivers from more than ten countries, utilizing the exciting Formula Renault race
car which took drivers like Kimi Raikkonen and Fernando Alonso directly to Formula One.

Simple yet effective, the Formula Renault 2.0 has been designed to meet specifications requiring controlled
season costs, total sporting fairness between competitors, excellent reliability and enough potential
performance to allow the talent of the best drivers to show through. Formula Renault race cars are similar
to F3 in design and construction, and feature a full carbon fibre monocoque chassis with an  effective aero
package, 200bhp Renault engine with 6 speed no-lift shift sequential gearbox, and reach 100kph (62mph)
in 3.85 seconds with a top speed of 260kph/160mph and 3.5Gs of cornering force. The cars also feature
full data acquisition systems for driver coaching.

The primary draw for the Asia Formula Renault Championship is its highly competitive pricing versus
comparable series in North America and Europe, such as Skip Barber, Jim Russell, or the various European
Formula Renault championships. In addition, the series is run at major race circuits in China and Asia, such
as the Shanghai International F1 Circuit and Sepang Formula One Circuit.

The 2010 Asia Formula Renault Championship opens at the new Guangdong International Circuit in late
April, and concludes at the new Hunan Street Circuit in October, with at least one race to be held during a
“C1” celebrity event weekend, featuring movie stars from Asia such as Jet Li. The last C1 event in 2008,
held at Shanghai International Circuit, featured a fan attendance of over 30,000.

With superb technical backing, a professional and dedicated media service, and the most experienced
teams in motorsport working behind the scenes, the well-established Formula Renault 2000
Championships truly are the place for F1 stars of the future.
